Meet Emily
Emily Bates, captain of Hawthorn FC in the AFLW, is not only a fierce competitor on the field but also a passionate advocate for health, wellness, and living life to the fullest. Whether training for game day or unwinding with her favourite pastimes, she approaches everything with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
Off the field, Emily can often be found making the most of Melbourne’s vibrant lifestyle. She has a soft spot for dogs – especially her one-year-old Brussels Griffon, Tuck, who undoubtedly runs the house. She loves exploring local parks, patting every dog she meets.
A keen home cook, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes and if she’s not in the kitchen, she’s likely catching up over coffee after a Pilates class. Whether it’s football, fitness, or simply finding joy in everyday moments, Emily is always up for an adventure, great company, and plenty of fun along the way.
Emily's Why
After years of footy – and a few knocks shifting her front teeth – Emily decided to invest in herself. Confidence is key, whether leading her team, speaking in the media, or just going about her day, Emily wants to feel her best.
“I’m excited to be really confident and smile more in photos, I’ve really noticed this recently.”
And with her dog Tuck’s perfect little underbite, she figured at least one of them should have straight teeth and a confident smile!
