Starting her Journey to a Strong, Empowered Smile

Meet Al

Born and raised in Tasmania, and now settled in Geelong. Al is a two-time Australian Paralympian, having competed at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, and a World Championship silver medalist in rowing (Mixed Coxed Four PR3). As a dedicated full-time athlete, Al not only strives for excellence in sport but also plays an active role in shaping the future of para-athletics. She serves on the Paralympics Australia and Rowing Australia Athlete Commissions, advocating for inclusivity and athlete representation. Additionally, Al is an ambassador for Proud2Play and Toyota Australia, using her platform to promote diversity, accessibility, and the power of sport to bring people together.

Outside of rowing, Al has a deep passion for photography, coffee, and the great outdoors. Whether by the coast or back in the country, she finds joy in exploring new places and capturing life’s moments through her camera lens.

Al's Why

As an athlete, Al experiences a lot of physical tension, and the pressure in her jaw and teeth was becoming a distraction. It was affecting her focus during key moments in her sport and even during keynote speaking events. Instead of worrying about discomfort, she wanted to be fully present-whether giving her all on the field or delivering a powerful message to an audience.

Al chose to straighten her teeth not just for aesthetics, but for long-term dental health and the confidence to fully embrace who she is. To Al, a smile represents happiness, approachability, and authenticity-values that align with her commitment to inclusivity and positive connections.

“My journey is about embracing individuality and inspiring confidence in others.”

Starting her Dream Smile Journey

After returning from the Paralympics in Paris in 2024, Al booked a Free Consultation, thinking, “What’s the harm?” After meeting the team Al realised how easy the process is. “Everything’s managed on an app, and the team is so friendly that the whole process feels easy. Honestly, it’s one of the most streamlined things I’ve ever done and it just fits seamlessly into my life.”

Al’s treatment plan designed by Dr Sarah Lawrence is a moderate treatment plan, which will take approximately 12 months.
