As Specialist Orthodontists with over 40 years experience combined designing beautiful, healthy smiles, we’ve witnessed first hand the impact of treatments done without the right expertise. Many patients would walk into our Collins Street practice, frustrated and disheartened after trying mail-order aligners. Their stories were often the same – no X-rays to ensure their teeth were healthy, no professional oversight, and DIY kits that left them to navigate one of the most critical steps of their smile journey alone. Many of these treatments weren’t just disappointing – they were risky, leaving patients in need of re-treatment or, worse, unfinished.

When the world came to a standstill in 2020 and people couldn’t leave their homes, the demand for these quick-fix solutions surged. But teeth straightening isn’t something that should ever be rushed or taken lightly. It’s a deeply personal journey, often driven by the desire for more confidence and long-lasting results. We knew there had to be a better way – one that prioritises the patient’s care, safety, and outcomes above all else.

And so, in August 2022, Urban Smile was born.
