Dr Igor Lavrin

Dr. Igor Lavrin was raised in Melbourne and Hong Kong, studied dentistry at the University of Adelaide, and practiced as a general dentist in Melbourne. He continued his education with a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from Harvard University in the United States. He has received numerous awards for scholastic and clinical excellence and published articles in the Orthodontic and scientific literature.
He has worked in private Orthodontic practice in Massachusetts, USA and lectured internationally at conferences and universities in the United States, Canada, throughout Asia as well as in Australia and New Zealand. Dr Lavrin was a Clinical Consultant and Lecturer for Invisalign in the Asia-Pacific region for almost a decade.
Dr. Lavrin has taught Orthodontics at Harvard University and the University of Melbourne and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Western Australia. He has dedicated over 20 years to the Australian Society of Orthodontists taking up prominent roles both in a state and national capacity.
He is co-director of L&L Orthodontics with his wife, Dr. Sarah Lawrence. Dr Lavrin and Dr Lawrence co-founded Urban Smile, aiming to make orthodontic-directed clear aligner treatment accessible and affordable. Together they have treated over 5,000 smiles using clear aligners.
Dr Sarah Lawrence

Dr. Sarah Lawrence, originally from New Zealand, graduated from the University of Otago Dental School and completed her Orthodontic training at the University of Melbourne. Since 2004, she has worked in private practice at L&L Orthodontics with her husband, Dr. Igor Lavrin.
Dr Lawrence is a Clinical Tutor and Lecturer for Postgraduate Orthodontic students at the University of Melbourne. She has lectured in Australia and internationally including New Zealand, China, Singapore, South Korea, India and the United States. She was a Clinical Consultant and Lecturer for Invisalign in the Asia-Pacific region for almost a decade.
She has a keen interest in digital technology in Orthodontics, always looking to gain superior outcomes with convenience and ease for patients. This passion has been pivotal in her decision to co-found Urban Smile with her husband, Dr Lavrin ensuring that excellence in clear aligner treatment is provided to patients with orthodontist led treatment and oversight which is affordable and accessible.
In her spare time, Dr. Lawrence enjoys spending time with her family (husband, 3 daughters and fluffy moodle Otto) cooking and gardening.
