Retainers are really important -we like to think your retainer is like giving your teeth a VIP pass to stay straight and aligned, preserving all the hard work of your orthodontic journey – keep flashing that Dream Smile!
Just like the tyres on a car, they do need to be replaced as they wear down – we recommend every 18 months but this can vary depending on how they are worn and looked after.

At your quick 20-minute appointment, our clinical team will take a 3D digital scan of your teeth to make sure your retainer fits perfectly, no old-style impression kits here!
Step 2
Your Retainer is Made
We will use this scan to custom manufacture your premium retainer to fit your smile.
Step 3
Collect Your Retainer
Your retainer will be available for collection at your chosen studio. You’ll also receive a handy protective case to keep it safe and sound.
What is a Bonded Retainer?
A bonded retainer is a thin wire that’s discreetly attached to the back of your teeth, usually the front six, to help keep your smile in place after orthodontic treatment. Unlike removable retainers, a bonded retainer stays fixed in place, offering continuous support to maintain your newly straightened teeth without the need to remember to wear it daily.
Bonded retainers are particularly helpful for preventing movement in the lower front teeth, which are more likely to shift over time. However, because they’re attached with dental adhesive and constantly exposed to daily chewing and brushing, they can be prone to breaking or coming loose over time. Regular dental check-ups can help catch any issues early.

What Happens if I Don't Wear My Retainer?
To maintain the alignment of newly straightened teeth, it’s crucial to replace lost or damaged retainers promptly. Without regular use, your teeth may shift back to their old positions.
If you’ve gone without wearing retainers for some time then additional orthodontic treatment might be needed to get your teeth back in line.
