Meet Nathan Borg

Nathan Borg (He/Him), the Melbourne-based deaf actor who’s shaking up screens and stereotypes! Best known for his role as Curtis Perkins on the iconic TV series Neighbours, Nathan made history as the show’s longest running deaf/disability character, bringing much-needed representation to Aussie television.

But Nathan’s talents don’t stop there! He made waves in a BONDS commercial that was totally Auslan-some (yep, it was presented in Auslan, the language of the Australian Deaf community). When he’s not lighting up the screen, Nathan is a passionate advocate for the Deaf and LGBTQIA+ communities, proving that diversity is not just a buzzword, but a call to action. With his powerful voice—on and off screen—Nathan is all about breaking barriers and building a world where everyone’s story gets told.

Nathan’s smile journey with Urban Smile started after his braces treatment in his teen years left room for improvement. Nathan’s Lite treatment plan, led by Dr Igor Lavrin and was focused on refining his bite, and addressing some mild crowding. Having a correct ‘bite’ is important for many reasons including to reduce tooth wear and improve chewing.

Interproximal Reduction (IPR) is a technique used in orthodontics, to help create space between the front teeth in mild crowding cases like Nathan’s and get optimal alignment. It’s done to gain space and to reduce the look of ‘black triangles’ between your front teeth.
