For many brides and grooms, a confident smile is an important part of feeling their best on their wedding day. Eliza began her clear aligner journey with Urban Smile around eight months before walking down the aisle, with the goal of achieving a straighter, brighter smile in time for the celebration. Just two weeks out from the big day, she had her attachments removed and completed whitening treatment, giving her the confidence to smile freely in every photo. We caught up with Eliza to talk about planning a wedding while undergoing treatment, the results she’s already seeing, and her advice for other brides considering clear aligners.

You’re two weeks out from the wedding. What does this moment feel like?

It still doesn’t feel real! There is so much to do in the lead-up, so it can be quite stressful, but it’s also incredibly exciting knowing it will all come together for a beautiful day celebrating our marriage with the people we love most.

What was it like having your attachments removed just before the big day?

It was so easy and super quick. It was really exciting to see the results of the process so far without the attachments. It’s amazing how clear aligners work — the results are incredible. I’m so excited to be smiling with confidence on my wedding day because I’m really happy with how my smile looks now.

Why did you decide to book whitening a couple of weeks out from the wedding?

I wanted to feel really confident about my smile on the day, especially knowing I’ll be smiling the entire time! A brighter smile can really elevate your overall look. Doing it a couple of weeks out meant the whitening had time to fully settle, so the week before the wedding could be stress-free. It was also really convenient having my attachments removed and whitening done in the same appointment. Seeing my smile without attachments and freshly whitened at the same time made it even more exciting.

Looking back to when you first started treatment eight months ago, what’s the biggest difference you notice now?

My teeth look so much straighter, and my smile feels much more aligned than before. The health of my teeth has improved as well, especially since there’s less crowding on my bottom teeth.

Did having clear aligners during wedding planning ever feel overwhelming, or did it actually make things easier?

Getting used to them was a small challenge at the beginning because you have to add them into your daily routine. But once it became a habit, it was really easy. As you start seeing results, it becomes exciting knowing you’ll feel confident and happy with your smile on your wedding day. You don’t want to be thinking about insecurities with your teeth on a day that should be focused on enjoying something so special.

How important is it to you to feel confident in your smile on your wedding day?

It’s so important. I didn’t want to feel self-conscious when smiling or taking photos. I want to focus on the special moments rather than worrying about the way my smile looks.

If another bride was thinking about aligners or whitening but worried it might be too late, what would you tell her?

I’d say give Urban Smile a call and book a free consultation. The team are so lovely and can let you know what options might still work within your timeframe. I still have my refinement sets to go, so being able to remove the attachments for the wedding and then put them back on afterwards was a great option for me.
