Throughout my treatment at Urban Smile, I documented each major milestone of my smile journey, from my very first consultation to finishing treatment and whitening my smile. Along the way, I shared what surprised me, what each appointment involved, how I felt and the little things I wish I’d known before I started.

My Clear Aligner Journey
1. My Consultation
Every smile journey starts with a consultation.
At my first appointment, I had a 3D scan, photos and X-rays taken, learned more about my smile and bite, and found out I was a suitable candidate for clear aligners. It was also my chance to ask questions and understand exactly what treatment would involve.

2. My First 24 Hours with Clear Aligners
The excitement was real, but so were the questions.
Would my aligners hurt? Would I be able to talk normally? How difficult would they be to take in and out?

3. My IPR Appointment
A few weeks into treatment, I reached another important milestone: my IPR appointment.
I’ll admit, the name sounded a little intimidating at first, but the appointment was much simpler than I expected. I share exactly what happened, what it felt like and why I needed it as part of my treatment.

4. My Refinement Appointment
Even though my teeth had moved beautifully, my Specialist Orthodontist wanted to make a few final adjustments to achieve the best possible result.
Refinements are a normal part of many clear aligner journeys, and this appointment was all about perfecting the details.

5. Finishing My Treatment
After months of wearing aligners and watching my smile gradually transform, it was finally time to finish treatment.
This appointment included removing my attachments, taking my final scans and photos, and receiving my retainers to help keep my new smile in place.
Looking back, it was incredible to see how much my smile had changed since my very first consultation.

6. The Finishing Touch: Teeth Whitening
Straight teeth deserve a bright smile too.
As part of my treatment, I completed professional take-home teeth whitening using Pola Night. In this final chapter, I share how the process worked, what the trays were like to use and the tips I learned along the way.

Why I Wanted to Share My Journey
Before I started treatment, I had lots of questions.
What would my appointments be like?
Would my aligners hurt?
Would I need IPR? What would it feel like?
What happens if my teeth don’t move exactly as planned?
Reading clinical information was helpful, but hearing from someone who had actually experienced it would have made me feel much more prepared.
That’s why I decided to document every stage of my smile journey.
