Your clear aligners might look simple, but there’s a lot of planning behind every set.
Clear aligner treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your aligners are created specifically for your teeth, while your treatment plan maps out how they’re intended to move over time.
At Urban Smile, that process starts with detailed digital records of your teeth and bite, followed by a personalised treatment plan designed by one of our Specialist Orthodontists.
So, how does your smile go from a 3D scan to a series of custom clear aligners? Let’s take a look.
How The Customisation Process Begins
Urban Smile clear aligners are like a fingerprint – unique, personal and designed just for you.
It all begins with a free consultation at one of our studios. Our AHPRA-registered Oral Health Therapists give your teeth the royal treatment, with a thorough analysis that includes 3D scans and digital X-rays. This helps us understand your teeth, roots, and jaw to ensure your treatment plan is as unique as you are.
With this detailed blueprint of your teeth, our Specialist Orthodontists get to work, crafting a custom journey for your smile. We create a series of clear, removable aligners, tailored to your specific dental structure and bite.
But these aren’t your ordinary aligners; they’re virtually invisible and perfectly moulded to fit you. Every set is designed to move your teeth with precision and care.
It’s about making sure everything is done with your comfort and dental health in mind. We wouldn’t want it any other way!
Creating Your Treatment Plan & Clear Aligners
So you’ve had your first consultation, what’s next? Now, it’s time for our Melbourne Specialist Orthodontists to work their magic. They’ll create a digital roadmap that maps out each stage of your clear aligner treatment journey.
Think of it as a road trip to a straighter smile – without any detours or roadblocks. And there’s no need to pack your bags; just a healthy dose of patience and commitment to your plan.
Our orthodontists will map out your entire journey, choosing from one of three treatment plans: light, moderate, or advanced. These plans dictate how long your journey will take and the cost of your treatment plan. Lucky for you, we handle all the logistics – you just need to stick to the plan.
Each set of aligners is custom-made based on the digital model of your teeth and jaw. To ensure they fit you, we add small clear attachments to gently guide your teeth and jaw into their new position.
It’s like giving your teeth a gentle nudge in the right direction, minus the shoving.
To keep things on track, you’ll need to wear your aligners for 22+ hours a day.
Every week, you’ll switch to a new aligner, keeping your teeth moving in the right direction.
So, whether you’re out with friends, binge-watching your favourite Netflix show or going out for a run, remember to keep those aligners on to let them do the heavy lifting.
Monitoring Your Treatment Along the Way
Once your clear aligner treatment begins, our clinical team continues to monitor how your teeth are progressing.
At key stages, you’ll visit your Urban Smile studio for an in-person appointment with one of our Oral Health Therapists. We’ll check your progress, answer any questions and make sure everything is progressing according to your treatment plan.
Regular Check-Ins, From Home
Between studio visits, we use Dental Monitoring to keep an eye on your treatment remotely.
Using the app and your ScanBox, you’ll complete regular scans of your teeth from home. Our clinical team reviews your scans and can provide guidance as your treatment progresses.
The app also makes it easy to stay connected with our team, so if you have a question between appointments, help is just a message away.
Your Treatment, Planned Around You
From your initial 3D scan and Specialist-designed treatment plan to regular Dental Monitoring and in-studio care, every stage of your Urban Smile treatment is planned around your individual teeth and bite.
