Meet Rebecca a busy mum who recently began her clear aligner journey at Urban Smile Hawthorn. Like many adults, she’d been thinking about straightening her teeth for years but wasn’t sure how treatment would fit into her lifestyle. Now, a couple of months in to her Advanced Treatment Plan, she’s sharing how simple and manageable the process has been, why she finally took the leap, and what she’s most excited for as her smile transforms.
Can you tell us a bit about your smile journey so far?
I’ve always been a little self-conscious about my teeth, especially in photos, so starting this journey is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It finally felt like the right moment to do something for myself and commit to getting the smile I’ve always wanted. So far, the journey has been a breeze — it hasn’t impacted my day-to-day life at all (in the best way!).

They’ve fit in surprisingly well. I only take them out to eat; otherwise, they’re super discreet, so half the time I forget I’m even wearing them.
How have you found keeping up with treatment while juggling family life?
It’s been really manageable. Nothing has really changed, to be honest, and my kids have barely noticed them either! Once you get into a routine, wearing aligners becomes second nature, even with little ones and a busy schedule.
Any tips for staying confident and comfortable on nights out while wearing aligners?
Bring your aligner case, stay hydrated, and don’t overthink it. They’re so invisible that no one actually notices!
