When Should You Start Clear Aligners Before Your Wedding?
The earlier you start the conversation, the more flexibility your orthodontic team has to plan treatment around your wedding date. As a general guide, we recommend booking your consultation around 12–18 months before the big day.

What If You’re Still Wearing Aligners on Your Wedding Day?
Don’t worry if your treatment timeline extends beyond the big day. Your Urban Smile team can help you plan ahead so you know exactly what to do with your aligners and attachments around your wedding.
For our brides, we can temporarily remove your attachments before the wedding where clinically appropriate, then rebond them afterwards so you can get back to your treatment plan.
Just let us know your wedding date in advance and we’ll talk you through the options based on your individual treatment.
The Clear Aligner Journey with Urban Smile
Step 1: Initial Consultation
Book your free consultation with Urban Smile at least 12 to 18 months before your wedding. During this consultation, we will assess your teeth in order to develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs by taking x-rays, 3D digital scans and dental photos.
Step 2: Treatment
Clear aligner treatment times vary depending on your teeth, bite and the movements required. While some patients may complete treatment within 6 to 18 months, more complex treatment can take longer.
If you have a wedding date in mind, starting the conversation early gives your Specialist Orthodontist more time to plan around your timeline.

Step 3: Final Adjustments and Retainer
If your treatment is completed before your wedding, you’ll move into the retention phase. We’ll provide your retainers and explain how to wear and care for them to help maintain the position of your teeth after treatment.

Eligible patients aged 18+ also receive a take-home Pola Night whitening kit as part of their Urban Smile clear aligner treatment. If you’d like to use your whitening before your wedding, talk to your clinical team about when to start.
