Meet Lucy – a working professional and mum of two – who recently completed her clear aligner journey with Urban Smile Brunswick. Referred by a friend and encouraged by a family member in dentistry, Lucy shares how she fit treatment into her lifestyle and why she wishes she’d started sooner.
Why Now?
For Lucy, the decision to straighten her teeth came from a desire to prevent worsening issues. “My top front two teeth were starting to cross, and I could see that it would only get worse over time. Reflecting on the Journey
Seeing the final result was incredibly satisfying. “It was such a positive moment. I’m so grateful I did something for me. On reflection I wish I’d done it years ago, but with young children and work it kept on going on the back burner, I just didn’t know so much of it could be done via an app with clinical support at the same time. It was great knowing that the Specialist Orthodontists were overseeing the treatment also.”
Advice for Others
To other busy mums or professionals on the fence, Lucy says: “It’s absolutely worth the investment. Even if your teeth aren’t that bad, they can get worse over time. I discovered crowding of your teeth continues to get worse with age and I wanted to get ahead of it – and I’m so glad I did. It’s not just about the aesthetics of your teeth but functionality too. Plus, you’re never too old to do something for you!”
And her top tip for those about to start?
“Always keep your aligners in their case when not in use – you do not want to lose them! Also, a great idea is to keep a toothbrush and toothpaste travel set in your bag for quick cleans on the go. The EverSmile foam is fab too”
